TinySquish

Privacy

Short version: your images never leave your device, and we don't use cookies or third-party analytics.

Your images

Images are opened, compressed and saved entirely in your browser. They are never uploaded to tinysquish.com or anywhere else, and the app keeps working with no internet connection.

The visit counter

When the compressor page loads, it sends one request to count the visit. To count each visitor once per day, the server stores a keyed hash (HMAC) of the date, your IP address and your browser's user agent; your IP address itself is never stored, and the previous day's hashes are deleted. The request also includes the host name of the site that linked to us (for example www.google.com, never the full address) and the path of the TinySquish page, which are only added up into daily totals.

Web server logs

Like almost every website, our web server (nginx) writes a standard access log with your IP address, the requested page, the time, the referring page and your browser's user agent. These logs are used only for security and troubleshooting, are not shared, and are deleted automatically after 14 days.

What we don't do

  • No cookies. The page only keeps a flag in your browser's session storage so the visit isn't counted twice.
  • No third-party analytics, ads, trackers or fonts loaded from other servers.
  • No accounts, so no personal data to store.
